January 29, 2008 - Emory Johns Creek Hospital is pleased to welcome Athi Narayan, MD, neonatologist to its staff.  Dr. Narayan joins the team of Emory neonatologists who provide round the clock coverage for newborns and pediatric patients.  Dr. Narayan, Board Certified in Neonatology has also completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology.  Narayan brings a wealth of experience to the families at Emory Johns Creek. 

The hospital’s Women’s Services department features a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  For babies born with difficulties or challenges, Dr. Narayan, and the staff of the NICU are on hand to provide a very high level of care. 

A pediatrician since 1969, Dr. Narayan has held academic appointments at the University of Illinois, Lincoln School of Medicine, The University of Minnesota and the Medical College of Ohio. He also began a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Illinois.  He lives in the Johns Creek community and is dedicated to the patients and staff at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.  “I am happy to call Johns Creek home and be able to provide care and peace of mind to the families here,” said Narayan.

Dr. Narayan has held many prestigious leadership roles in neonatology as a clinician, an organizer of new programs and a very active participant in community activities.  “We are fortunate to have someone with Dr. Narayan’s expertise and dedication,” said John Quinlivan, Chief Executive Officer and President of Emory Johns Creek Hospital.  “He is an asset to our NICU, to all our pediatric patients and their families,” added Quinlivan.

Devn Cornish, MD, Chairman of Pediatrics at Emory Johns Creek Hospital echoes Quinlivan’s sentiment.  “Having dedicated neonatologists and a level III NICU means that the families in and around Johns Creek have access to some of the very best care available,” said Cornish.
